Earth Day is an annual global event celebrated on 22nd April to demonstrate support for environmental protection, first held in 1970. Over 1 billion people in 193 countries participate by taking action against pollution, deforestation, and climate change through activities like tree planting, clean-ups, and education. Following a successful meet and greet pop up last year, AYWA is hosting another event with our friends from Root/25 in London and Restless Beings, a humanitarian aid organisation. Join us on Wednesday 22nd April, for a light-minded evening, meet Waqaas Ahmed - Founder and Designer of AYWA - a slow fashion abaya brand based in the English countryside. What are we doing at AYWA to help protect our planet? 

At AYWA, we believe in a slower and more wholesome way of life. We are creating a realm, delicately weaving slow fashion with mindfulness and conscious living.  We believe that we shouldn't be solely relying on big organisations or big cities to make changes for the environment - we all have a role a role to play on this delicate planet. Every single one of us can make the small changes in our lives, to help encourage a healthier environment. 

Good clothes are good for the soul, and we love to share that which is good or Tayyib طيّب - encouraging mindfulness.   With the world moving so fast, we invite you to slow down and join us on 22nd April to discuss more about how we can all become more mindful as a community - through fashion, whilst browsing through our latest Spring Summer 2026 collection.

All our collections are proudly designed and handcrafted from our attic-studio in Waddesdon, England. We consciously select high quality materials and love preserving artisanal techniques from all over the world, so each piece becomes a wearable work of art and story of craftsmanship that you can cherish.
