Mindfulness...
I often ponder over the word, and revisit my thoughts and ideas. In a way, I think I am mindful about mindfulness.
I read an interesting article recently, written by Greater Good Magazine - Science-Based Insights for a Meaningful Life.
What Is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, through a gentle, nurturing lens.
Mindfulness also involves acceptance, meaning that we pay attention to our thoughts and feelings without judging them—without believing, for instance, that there’s a “right” or “wrong” way to think or feel in a given moment. When we practice mindfulness, our thoughts tune into what we’re sensing in the present moment rather than rehashing the past or imagining the future.

There have been several studies to show the health benefits and mental benefits of being more mindful in people's lives. We live in a time when we are on a sort of autopilot mode and we don't really take a moment to feel the sensations of our surroundings and environment and have become accustomed to a zoned out and robotic state.
At AYWA we strive to be mindful of our movement, every decision we make, and every action we take. From every material we select to every stitch that goes into creating our wholesome abayas - we are consciously aware.
